Dear Reader,
My changes took me away from writing and the Internet for the latter quarter of this year. Some were personal but others are professional. The professional changes have me in the "writing cave" more and in the "blogging cave" less, which is a trend I don't foresee changing in 2013. I have many writing projects on my plate and a limited amount of time in which to work at them, as the majority of my days are spent chasing a walking, talking, howling-at-the-moon (seriously!) toddler. And he's only going to get more talkative as he learns more words, and faster as he learns to run.
I'm the kind of person who can do many things adequately or do a few things well. Parenting and writing are two things I'd rather do "well" than "adequate," so I've had to cut some areas in order to avoid short-shrifting other areas. Internet activity is one of those areas I've been backing away from, which you've probably already noticed if you've taken a look at my blog, Twitter, or Facebook in recent months.
So, there you have it - looking ahead, I see days filled with writing and parenting. In 2012, I gave you Naked & Unleashed, Tangled & Bound, Paint for Blood and Desert Sacrifice. In 2013, I'd like to give you a lot more but in order to do that, I have to realistically number my pursuits. Writing, parenting, being healthy, rediscovering personal creativity (oh how long it's been since I knitted a pair of socks!) - I thought achieving balance was a challenge before. Now...well, I'm going to do my best to rise to the challenge.
While "fluff" blogging may be sporadic, I promise to update this blog with book news as it becomes available. However, you might want to sign up to receive my newsletter for direct notification of new releases, sales, contests, or giveaways as they happen. Besides my newsletter, please do continue to follow me on Twitter or friend me on Facebook. You never know when I'll find myself with a napping kiddo and a few minutes without any pressing responsibilities.
Looking back, 2012 was a good year for me. When I look ahead at 2013, I see an even better year. I hope you do too.
Sincerely,
Emily
